Hydrocarbon Traps Eliminate DetectorNoise and Baseline Stability
*Filled with a High Surface Area Activated Carbon for Maximum
Adsorption.
Alltech
Hydrocarbon Traps adsorb trace amounts of hydrocarbons and organics from your gas stream. Hydrocarbons and organics
can cause "noisy" baselines, "spiking", and
extraneous peakswhich adversely effect the performance of component-specific
detectors such as the ECD or FID. In extreme cases, they can also
contaminate your analytical column. Installing a Hydrocarbon Trap
will eliminate contamination caused by gas streams suppliedby generators that use a compressed air source to produce gas,
lower grade cylinder gases, and improperly cleaned gas lines.
Hydrocarbon traps are usually packed with an activated charcoal
which will adsorb any organic compound larger than methane. Size
and molecular weight of the organic contiminants will greatly
affect the capacity of the trap, and to a smaller degree, efficiency.
Activated charcoal has a higher capacity for larger (>C4) components
than for smaller components.
High
Pressure C02
Adsorber
*Protects Molecular Sieve Columns from C02 Contamination
Alltech's
High pressure C02
Adsorber removes C02
and N02
from gas streams. The adsorbent bed has the capacity to
remove 25-30gmsof C02 before it is saturated and
requires replacing or refilling. Water is a by-product
of C02 adsorbtion
and a moisture trapshould be installed downstream of the
C02 Adsorber before the instrument.

Sulfur Purifier
*Purifies Compressed Air Supply to Zero Air Gas Generators
The
Alltech Sulfur Purifier removes sulfur containing compounds,C2 and greater hydrocarbons and
halocarbons from almost any gas stream. The adsorbent bed
of the gas purifier incorporates three separate adsorbtion chemistries
to ensure optimal capacity and a high level of efficiency. It
removes sulfur compounds and sulfur containing hydrocarbons from
a gas stream containing 100ppm levels of contaminants to less
than 10ppb. It is not recommended for use in a pure oxygen stream
for safety reasons. |
