Remove Moisture From Your Gas Stream
*Prevent Stationary Phase Degradation

Moisture contamination of gas cylinders, regulators, and gas lines can inadvertently occur when room air enters the gas system while changing cylinders. Moisture can have a detrimental effect on the quality of your chromatography. It degrades the stationary phase and decreases the life of your analytical column. An Alltech Moisture Trap will remove moisture from your gas stream to eliminate these problems. Both indicating and non-indicating purifiers are available. The adsorbent bed of the indicating trap shows a colour change when it becomes saturated. They are manufactured with metal bodies and are suitable for high pressure and bulk purification applications.

 

Moisture Trap material

Most moisture traps are filled with molecular sieve (zeolites).The crystalline structure of the molecular sieve consists of SiO4 and Al304 groups, the cations to balance the negative charge of the Aluminosilicate structure, and the water of hydration. When the crystalline structures lose the water of hydration, they have the ability to adsorb molecules with critical dimensions less than their effective pore size. Molecular sieves have a strong affinity for water and are extremely effective in drying gases and liquids in both static and dynamic applications.
